Casey DeSmith stopped 25-of-27 shots in the game and went 3-for-4 in the shootout to record his 100th career NHL victory as the Dallas Stars beat the Colorado Avalanche 3-2 on Wednesday night at Ball Arena. The win earned an important Stars split of the back-to-back, home-and-home series against the Avs, which was their first win over a Central Division opponent in the young 2026-27 season. Miro Heiskanen and Arttu Hyry scored the goals for Dallas, while Gabriel Landeskog and Brock Nelson found the net for Colorado. In the shootout, Jason Robertson and Roope Hintz were successful on their attempts, while Nazem Kadri was the only Avalanche shooter to beat DeSmith.
