Joel Hofer stopped all 25 shots he faced to record his ninth career NHL shutout as the St. Louis Blues beat the Dallas Stars 4-0 on Friday night in the 2026-27 season opener at American Airlines Center. Mason McTavish’s first period goal, his first as a member of the Blues, turned out to be the game-winner. Dalibor Dvorský added a goal in the second period and a pair of late empty net goals from Jimmy Snuggerud and Pius Suter rounded out the scoring. Adam Jiríčěk, making his NHL debut, thought he scored a power play goal early in the third period, but it was disallowed following a successful coach’s challenge by the Stars for offside against Pavel Buchnevich. Join the DLLS Stars Post Game Show as we recap all the main storylines, Craig Ludwig’s “What The Puck” segment provides comprehensive breakdowns of key plays and we take your Super Chats!
