The Dallas Stars are a perfect 3-0-0 to begin the new season, after beating the Minnesota Wild 5-2 in their home opener on Tuesday night at American Airlines Center. The Stars raced out to a 3-0 lead, thanks to an early Esa Lindell goal and a pair of power play goals from Wyatt Johnston and Matt Duchene. However, the Wild fought back with two power play goals of their own in the third period by Matt Boldy and Kirill Kaprizov, before Dallas pulled away with empty net goals from Radek Faksa and Roope Hintz. There was a scary moment early in the third period, when Matt Duchene took a huge open ice hit from Jake Middleton. Duchene was slow to get up, went down the tunnel and did not return to the game.
