In mid-August, we had our good friend, and former longtime NHL video coach, Steve “Petey” Peters come on the show and provide a detailed breakdown of the Dallas Stars neutral zone problems last season, particularly during their first round playoff loss to the Minnesota Wild. Petey did a tremendous job diagramming the problems and then predicting the corrections Glen Gulutzan and his staff would likely implement. But at the end of that show, Petey said, let’s revisit this after 10 games and see where the Stars are at. Well, we had a day off last Friday (after 10 games), so we decided to bring Petey on today, after 11 games, and break it all down. After all, the Stars have won five games in a row and are surging up the Central Division standings thanks to banking points in eight of their last nine games (7-1-1) after an 0-2-0 start to the season.
